Avelle Life · The Field Guide
Tips & Tricks
Set it up with intention. Use it to make sharper decisions every day.
Avelle works best when it reflects your real life—not an idealized version of it. Begin with what needs your attention now, then add only the tools that genuinely make life easier.

Your first ten minutes
Start with one useful day
You do not need to configure every tool before Avelle becomes useful.
- Add one routine you already do—or one small routine you genuinely want to begin.
- Set down one to-do that needs handling and add a due date only if it is truly useful.
- Open Today, handle the next move, and let the rest of the app wait.
Start smaller than your ambition. Avelle should reduce the number of things you must think about—not become another project to maintain.
Make it yours
Choose the tools that earn a place
Life, Career, and Social are flexible dashboards—not lists you are expected to complete.
- Open a dashboard and choose Edit tools.
- Add the tools that support this season of your life and hide the ones that do not.
- To reorder a tool, press and hold its card until it lifts, then drag it into place.
Empty space is allowed. A calm dashboard with four useful tools is better than a full dashboard you avoid opening.
Choose the direction
Keep Vision & Priorities close—not cumbersome
Your vision gives Avelle a direction. It does not need to become another daily assignment.
Write your vision in the present tense. Try:
- "I am someone who ..."
- "In our home, we always ..."
- "The things I protect, no matter what, are ..."
Keep it to two or three honest sentences. Then name the three priorities that deserve the clearest attention in this season.
Set them, then fold them. Return when a decision needs direction or a new season begins.
Use Today
Let Overview do the sorting
Today is for acting, not reviewing every piece of your system.
- Start with the Overview for your current routines, agenda, upcoming dates, trackers, and dinner plan.
- Use the quick check when a routine or tracker needs only one tap.
- Open the larger card only when you need steps, reminders, or more context.
Use the level of detail the moment requires. A quick check and a full routine card are two views of the same work—not two tasks.
Turn intention into evidence
Know whether it is a goal, routine, or tracker
Goals define the outcome. Routines define the process. Trackers show whether the repeatable action is actually happening.
Use a goal for an outcome with a finish line. Use a routine for a practice or sequence you repeat. Use a tracker for one signal you want to count or notice over time.
Make the data earn its place. If checking a box will not change a decision, build awareness, or reinforce a useful behavior, you probably do not need to track it.
Capture without clutter
Use Notes as a landing place, not another inbox
The center plus is for quickly setting something down before it disappears.
Use Saved Ideas for a thought or link. Use Journal when you want to write something through. Turn either into a commitment only when you decide to act.
A captured idea does not automatically become a commitment. Keep it because it is interesting; turn it into a to-do or goal only when you decide to act.
Share deliberately
Put shared work where both people can see it
Use Shared Space for coordination—not for duplicating everything in your private account.
Share only the grocery lists, meals, tasks, routines, or dates that require another person. Add an owner when that removes ambiguity.
Shared should answer two questions: what needs handling, and who has it?
Run the week
Use The Personal CEO Review to close the loop
Do not just collect goals, calendar entries, wins, and notes. Review what matters together and decide what happens next.
- Record the week's wins, misses, and lessons without polishing the story.
- Review your goals, priorities, relationships, and upcoming calendar.
- Choose the decisions and follow-through that will make next week stronger.
Leave with a clear next move—not a perfect account of the week.
Build the system. Use it. Adjust it when your life changes.
